Open Meetings Act (effective 7/21/2022)

 

NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASES

Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of Neb. Rev. Stat. §77-1633, that a representative of the following political subdivisions will meet on the 20th day of September 2023 at 6:00 p.m., at The Barn at God’s Country, 53174 Highway 84, Center Nebraska for the purpose of conducting a joint public hearing to obtain public input on property tax increases proposed by the subdivisions:

  • Knox County, (402) 288-5604, property tax requested: $3,942,875.36
  • City of Bloomfield, (402) 373-2272, property tax requested: $288,841.60
  • City of Crofton, (402) 388-4766, property tax requested: $296,937.04

Said meeting is open to the public. Accommodations for the disabled are available upon request. Please contact Knox County Clerk Joann Fischer at (402) 288-5604 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting if accommodations are required.

There is no item on the agenda for this joint public meeting other than discussion of each political subdivision’s intent to increase its property tax request by a percentage greater than the “allowable growth percentage” defined in §77-1633. The political subdivisions shall make their presentations in the order listed above.

 

NOTICE OF MEETING BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF KNOX COUNTY, NEBRASKA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:

That a regular meeting of the Knox County Board of Supervisors will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 4, 2023, in the Board of Supervisors’ meeting room at the Knox County Courthouse in Center, Nebraska, which meeting will be open to the public.  An agenda for the meeting is kept continuously current and is available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk; however, the Board upon convening shall have the right to modify the agenda.  The agenda is also available for viewing on the Knox County website at www.co.knox.ne.us.

NOTICE OF MEETING BOARD OF EQUALIZATION OF KNOX COUNTY, NEBRASKA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN:

That a regular meeting of the Knox County Board of Equalization will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday October 4, 2023, in the Board of Supervisors’ meeting room at the Knox County Courthouse in Center, Nebraska, which meeting will be open to the public.  An agenda for the meeting is kept continuously current and is available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk; however, the Board upon convening shall have the right to modify the agenda.  The agenda is also available for viewing on the Knox County website at www.co.knox.ne.us.

REAL ESTATE AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES

Real estate and personal property taxes are due December 31.  The first half of the tax becomes delinquent on the following May 1 and the second half becomes delinquent on September 1.
